Men's Basketball Plays Host to Manhattan on Sunday

The Central Connecticut men's basketball team welcomes Manhattan to Detrick Gymnasium on Sunday. The game is slated for a 1 p.m. tipoff and will be streamed on NEC Front Row. The teams will be meeting for just the second time in program history.

Central and Manhattan are meeting for the second straight season. The Jaspers are making their first trip to Detrick Gymnasium.

OPENING NOTES
•    Central hosts its first Division I opponent of the season when Manhattan comes to Detrick Gymnasium on Sunday.
•    Head coach Patrick Sellers is in his third season at the helm of his alma mater.
•    The Blue Devils and Rams are meeting for the first time, while CCSU is playing a non-D-I foe for the first time since Dec. 29, 2019 when it defeated Connecticut College, 89-55.
•    CCSU will remain home and host Manhattan on Sunday, Nov. 19, before embarking on a stretch of playing five of six games on the road.

•    Allan Jeanne-Rose has started the season shooting a blistering 77.8% from the field (21-of-27) and 3-of-5 (.600) from 3-point range.
•    Jeanne-Rose is leading the Blue Devils in scoring at 17.0 ppg through 3 games, while adding 3.0 rpg and 2.0 apg.
•    He scored 21 points (8-10 fg, 3-4 3fg) with 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists in 24 minutes at URI in his first game with CCSU.

•    Jordan Jones earned his first start of the year against Framingham State. He scored 13 points with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
•    He played 29 minutes off the bench at Quinnipiac and contributed 13 points, 3 assists and 3 steals.
•    He leads the team with 6 steals overall, averaging 2.0 per game.
•    In 2022-23, he ranked 3rd nationally in D-II in steals (2.59) and 6th in assists (6.5) at Coker (SC) University.

•    The Blue Devils lead the Northeast Conference with 5.7 blocked shots per game. Kellen Amos (1.3) and Jayden Brown (1.3) rank 2nd in the NEC in blocks per game, while Abdul Momoh (1.0) is 6th.
•    Central had 8 rejections against Framingham State, marking its season-high total from last season.
•    The Blue Devils recorded 7 blocked shots in the opener at URI, including three in the opening four minutes.
