CCSU Men's Basketball Coaches to Show Support of Autism Speaks, Coaches Powering Forward Week

The Central Connecticut men's basketball coaching staff will be joining teams across the nation for Autism Speaks, Coaches Powering Forward this weekend. The Blue Devils are proud to stand alongside coaches across the country wearing the Autism Speaks puzzle piece pin, which shows support for creating a world where all people with autism can reach their full potential.

Coaching staffs around the country will be wearing an Autism Speaks puzzle piece pin during basketball games from February 21-28. This year, Coach Pat Skerry of the Towson Tigers men's basketball team is joined by Coach Colleen Mullen of the UAlbany Great Danes women's basketball team to lead Coaches Powering Forward. The coaches share the experiences of having children on the spectrum and were united through the Autism Speaks community.

The Autism Speaks Coaches Powering Forward Week is an annual effort to bring the NCAA community together in support the mission of Autism Speaks. Since starting Coaches Powering Forward nine years ago, more than 5,000 Autism Speaks puzzle piece pins were provided to coaches, their staff and broadcasters help create a more inclusive world for autistic people during the awareness games.
