Kohl and Marshall to Attend NEC Social Media Day
The Blue Devils host Arcadia in an exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 27
Senior Tyler Kohl will represent the Central Connecticut men's basketball program, along with head coach Donyell Marshall, at the Northeast Conference "Social" Media Day at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, on Wednesday, Oct. 24. The seventh edition of the league's launch of the basketball season will be available to stream live on both NEC Front Row and ESPN3 beginning at 11:00 a.m. NEC commentators Dave Popkin and Joe DeSantis will serve as hosts of the telecast. The NEC will announce its men's and women's basketball preseason polls and All-Conference teams at the event.
Marshall is set to begin his third season at the helm of the CCSU program. He welcomes back four players who started at least six games, including Kohl. The senior started 28 games and led the team in scoring (16.7 ppg), rebounding (8.2 rpg), assists (4.1 apg) and steals (1.4 spg) and earned Second Team All-NEC honors. Kohl was one of two players nationally to lead his team in all four categories and the only player in the league to rank in the Top 10 in each category.
Players and coaches will be interviewed during the telecast and made available to media attending the event. Fans can follow media day through an interactive experience on all social media platforms using the hashtag #NECinNYC. Fans can tweet questions in advance for NEC coaches and players to @NECsports or by using the hashtag #NECinNYC. The NEC Social Media team will engage fans during the telecast and use submitted questions to interview coaches and student-athletes.
Central will host Arcadia University in an exhibition game open to the public on Saturday, October 27, at 4:00 p.m. The Blue Devils begin the 2018-19 season at Hartford on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7:00 p.m.
