Kohl Named NABC All-District 18 2nd Team
The junior was also named All-NEC 2nd Team this season.
Junior Tyler Kohl of the Central Connecticut men's basketball team was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 18 Second Team it was announced on Tuesday. The honor is the latest for Kohl who earned Northeast Conference Second Team All-Conference honors earlier this postseason.
Kohl posted 16.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game to lead the Blue Devils, making him one of just three players post per game averages of 16.0/8.0/4.0. In his first season in New Britain, the 6-foot-5 wing was one of just 10 players nationally to lead his team in scoring, rebounding and assists. Kohl was also the only player in the NEC to rank among the top 10 in each of those categories, while ranking just outside the league's Top 10 with 1.4 steals per game. Kohl was one of just two players in the country to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists and steals.
Kohl earned NEC Player of the Week honors twice during the season and scored at least 20 points in a game 13 times. Kohl paced the Blue Devils in points-rebounds-assists in a game 14 times and posted eight double-doubles. He scored a career-high 28 points on two occasions and nearly posted triple-doubles at LIU Brooklyn (12 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists) and at ECU (20 points, nine rebounds, nine assists).
The Blue Devils went 14-18 overall on the season, positing their most wins since 2010-11. CCSU also went 7-11 in Northeast Conference play to return to the NEC Tournament for the first time since 2013-14.
