Kohl Named NEC Men's Basketball Second Team All-Conference
The Blue Devils face Wagner on Wednesday night in the NEC Quarterfinals.
Junior Tyler Kohl of the Central Connecticut men's basketball team was named Northeast Conference Second Team All-Conference it was announced on Tuesday by the league office on the eve of the conference postseason tournament. The eighth-seeded Blue Devils will play top-seeded Wagner on Wednesday night in Staten Island.
Kohl had a standout season in his first campaign with CCSU. The 6-foot-5 wing is one of just seven players nationally to lead his team in scoring, rebounding and assists and one of only two players to average 16.0/8.0/4.0. Kohl is also the only player in the NEC to rank among the top 10 in each of those categories, putting up 16.8 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game and 4.2 assists per game. He ranks just outside the league's top 10 with a team-high 1.3 steals per game.

Kohl was named NEC Player of the Week twice during the season and scored at least 20 points in a game 13 times. A versatile, well-rounded player, Kohl paced the Blue Devils in points-rebounds-assists in 14 contests and posted eight double-doubles. He has scored a career-high 28 points on two occasions and nearly posted triple-doubles at LIU Brooklyn (12 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists) and at ECU (20 points, nine rebounds, nine assists).
The Blue Devils (14-17, 7-11 NEC) posted their most wins since 2010-11 and qualified as the eight seed for the Northeast Conference Tournament presented by Startwire.
