Men's Basketball Hosts Bryant at Detrick Gym for Community Day Saturday
The Blue Devils begin a stretch of three straight home games.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team welcomes Bryant to Detrick Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon for a 3:30 p.m. tipoff. The Northeast Conference tilt is the part of a CCSU basketball doubleheader on Community Day sponsored by Eversource. The women's game between CCSU and Sacred Heart will tip off at 1:00 p.m.
The CCSU Alumni Association will be collecting items to make overnight emergency kits for homeless shelters in New Britain. All supplies are welcome, but high-priority items include new socks, granola bars, tooth brushes, toothpaste, dental floss, travel size shampoo and body wash, and laundry detergent. Fans can bring their donations to the game or one of the following collection locations if they are unable to donate at the games:

- Davidson Hall – President's Office – Room 112
- Davidson Hall – Vice President of Institutional Advancement Office – Room 106
Tickets for CCSU home games can be purchased at CCSUTickets.com or at the box office upon entry to Kaiser Hall and Detrick Gymnasium. Admission for all CCSU students, faculty and staff is free of charge with a valid Blue Chip card.

TODAY'S GAME • Central Connecticut returns home to host Bryant on Saturday in a 3:30 p.m. tip-off. The Blue Devils have gone 4-1 at Detrick Gymnasium on the year and will be looking to snap a four-game slide since taking their Northeast Conference opener.
SERIES HISTORY • The Blue Devils and Bulldogs are meeting for the 31st time. Bryant leads the all-time series, 16-14, and swept last season's series. CCSU last won in the series, 78-67, on Jan. 28, 2016 at Detrick Gymnasium.
LAST TIME OUT • CCSU fell at St. Francis Brooklyn, 77-60, on Thursday night at the Pope P.E. Center. The Terriers sank 16 three-pointers and led throughout to pick up the Northeast Conference win. Junior Tyler Kohl led CCSU with 28 points and eight rebounds, while junior Deion Bute added 14 points. The Terriers scored the game's first five points and built a double-figure lead in the opening five-plus minutes. A Rasheem Dunn three-pointer would cap a 9-0 run and give SFC a 22-6 lead at the 11:53 mark. St. Francis would push the lead to as much as 38-17 before a late Central run would trim the margin. Kohl would convert a three-point play to open a string of seven unanswered points for the Blue Devils. After a jumper by senior Mustafa Jones, Kohl would hit a layup to make it 38-24 with 2:28 to go in the half. CCSU would get within 12 points before St. Francis hit two foul shots just before the break to make it 43-29 at halftime. Central would score six straight points to get within 53-37 with 12:35 to play but SFC would pull away from there. The Terriers would lead by as much as 74-48 before the Blue Devils trimmed the final margin.
