Northeast Conference Announces 2016-17 Basketball Television Schedule
The CCSU men's and women's basketball teams are included in four games in the league package.
The Northeast Conference released its 2016-17 basketball television package on Wednesday and the Central Connecticut men's and women's basketball teams will have four combined games air on national or regional televistion during the season. The NEC will have a total of 33 games air during the season, including a record eight national games on ESPN, ESPNU and CBS Sports.

The Blue Devils will make their first appearance on TV during the season when they travel to Saint Francis U on Saturday, Jan. 14, for a basketball doubleheader to air on ESPN3. The women's game will tip off at 12:00 p.m., with the men's contest to follow at 3:00 p.m.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team will host Bryant on Wednesday, Jan. 25, in a game to be carried on MSG+ and Fox College Sports. The tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
CCSU men's basketball will make one more appearance on the NEC television package when it travels to Fairleigh Dickinson on Thursday, February 9. The 5:00 p.m. tip will air on ESPN3 as part of an NEC tripleheader that day.
The league package includes a wildcard game on both the men's and women's side that will air a featuring an intriguing matchup with playoff implications. The men's basketball wildcard game on February 23 will air on CBS Sports, while there will be a women's wildcard game slated to air on ESPN3 on February 27. The total NEC package includes 11 women's contests, which matches the most in league history.
The NEC men's championship game will air on ESPN or ESPN2 at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7. The NEC women's championship game will be televised on ESPNU at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12.
Two of the NEC men's quarterfinal games will be televised by MSG+, Fox College Sports and Root Sports on Wednesday, March 1. Both NEC men's semifinal contests will air on MSG and Fox College Sports on Saturday, March 4.
The women's NEC tournament will have both semifinal contests broadcast on ESPN3 on Wednesday, March 8.
All of CCSU's men's and women's basketball home games that are not televised will be available on NEC Front Row.
In the non-conference portion of the men's basketball schedule, CCSU will be televised in a pair of games. The Blue Devils face Seton Hall on Sunday, Nov. 13, in a game to be televised on FS1 and will face Rutgers on Tuesday, Dec. 6, in a game carried on ESPN3.
The CCSU women's basketball game at Boston College on Sunday, Dec. 18, will be carried on the ACC Network Extra, an online channel dedicated for the broadcast of ACC sports and programming.
Men's basketball will host Alvernia College in an exhibition on Friday, Nov. 4, at Detrick Gymnasium. Admission is FREE and open to the public. The Blue Devils will open the regular season at home on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. against Hartford at Detrick Gymnasium.
CCSU women's basketball opens the season at Dartmouth on Friday, Nov. 11. The team's home-opener will be against Hartford on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
