Men's Basketball Travels to LIU Brooklyn on Thursday

The Central Connecticut men's basketball team travels to LIU Brooklyn on Thursday night for its final road game of the season. Bruce Biel (play-by-play) and Marc Robbins (analyst) will call the action for the Blue Devils on News Radio 1410/ESPN Radio 1300. Last Time Out • Senior Brandon Peel posted his ninth straight double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Wagner scored the first four games and led throughout the afternoon. Sophomore Kevin Seymour finished with 11 points, for his third double-digit scoring contest in the past four games, while freshman Evan Phoenix led Central with 12 points off the bench. CCSU got within 10 points early in the second half, but the Seahawks' defense would hold the Blue Devils to just two field goals over 13 minutes to take its largest lead of the game.

Coach Dickenman Announces Retirement • Following the win over Mount St. Mary's, head coach Howie Dickenman announced he will retire after the 2015-16 season. In 20 seasons at his alma mater he has won 182 games and led CCSU to three Northeast Conference titles and NCAA Tournament appearnaces. He is a four-time Coach of the Year and has coached five NEC Players of the Year.

Scouting LIU Brooklyn • The Blackbirds have clinched a spot in the Northeast Conference Tournaments and are coming off a 94-89 win in overtime at Saint Francis U. Jerome Frink leads the team with 17.0 points per game and 9.0 rebounds. In NEC play, Martin Hermansson is scoring 17.0 points and giving out 5.0 assists. The Blackbirds have four players averaging double-figures and rank second in the league in both scoring (75.9 ppg) and assists per game (13.59).
