Blue Devils Picked 8th in Coaches Poll
Central opens the season Nov. 10 vs. Fairfield in the CT6 Classic
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team was picked eighth in the 2012-13 Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. The poll was announced on Monday as part of the 2012 NEC 'Social" Media Day in Brooklyn, NY at the new Barclays Center.

Two-time defending champion LIU Brooklyn was chosen first in the poll, followed by Robert Morris, Wagner, Quinnipiac and St. Francis (NY) in the top five. Sacred Heart, Monmouth, CCSU, Mount St. Mary's, Bryant, Fairleigh Dickinson and St. Francis (PA) round out the poll.

The Blue Devils open the 2012-13 season on Saturday night, November 10 at 8 p.m. vs. Fairfield in the Annual Connecticut 6 Classic, this season being held at the Univerity of Hartford. Sophomore Kyle Vinales is coming off a spectacular freshman campaign when he finished second on the team in scoring and became the first freshman in school history to score more than 500 points in a single season.
Vinales is the leading returning scorer for the Blue Devils. The roster features 13 players, nine of which are underclassmen. There is just one senior on the roster for the Blue Devils, forward Joe Efese.
