Bio

Head coach Jeff McInerney has announced the addition of Vincent Ziccardi to the Central Connecticut football staff for the 2013 season.  Ziccardi will work with the defensive unit and focus on the defensive line position.

Ziccardi has worked with two of the top collegiate program’s in the country in his career.  In addition to his football coaching experience he has also worked in strength and conditioning at the collegiate level.

Ziccardi’s most recent role was as a strength and conditioning assistant at the University of Texas.  Prior to that, he served as a strength and conditioning assistant at the University of Alabama, working primarily with the defensive line during the 2011 season.

In the three years prior to working in strength and conditioning, Ziccardi was a student assistant and intern with the Alabama football program.  Working with the tide between 2007 and 2010, he assisted the program’s efforts in winning the 2008 Southeastern Conference Championship and the 2009 BCS National Championship.

His first coaching position came in 2006 as he was a defensive assistant coach at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

Ziccardi earned a degree from the University of Alabama in 2011.  He also played collegiately at Hofstra University in 2004 and 2005.
