Football Back Home on Saturday at 5 p.m. vs. Columbia
Blue Devils looking for seventh straight home victory
The Central Connecticut football team, 1-1 on the season after a 55-0 home victory over Lincoln last weekend, is looking for its seventh straight home victory as Columbia comes to town on Saturday night at 5 p.m. The Blue Devils and Lions are meeting for the first time since the 2009 season when CCSU posted a 22-13 victory on the road. A win would give the Blue Devils their best start after three games since 2011 when they also started the year 2-1.
The game can be seen at 5 p.m. live on NEC Front Row with Bruce Biel and Marc Robbins on the call. Following Saturday's game the Blue Devils will play four straight road games beginning next Saturday at Fordham. The next home game for the Blue Devils will take place on Oct. 20 vs. Sacred Heart as the Blue Devils celebrate Homecoming 2018. The four-game road trip is the longest for CCSU since 2006 when they played games 2-5 on the road. They were 3-1 during that stretch with wins over Georgia Southern, Southern Connecticut and Saint Peter's.
