Football Takes Home Opener Against Lincoln, 55-0
The Blue Devils host Columbia Saturday, Sept. 15 at 5:00 p.m.
Central Connecticut scored on its first six possessions and controlled the action in a 55-0 win over Lincoln University (PA) on Friday night in the 2018 home-opener at Arute Field. The CCSU defense forced the Lions offense to punt six times in the opening half, while posting its first shutout since 2015.

Central ran for three touchdowns in the opening quarter, including a pair from junior Drew Jean-Guillaume. He opened the game's scoring with an eight yard run to cap a five-play, 45 yard drive that took just 2:23.
After CCSU forced a three-and-out on Lincoln's first possession, senior Jacob Dolegala connected with senior Courtney Rush for a 58-yard score on the first play of the drive to make it 13-0.
Following another Lincoln punt, Central needed just two plays to reach paydirt again. Junior Enyce Walker lost a yard on the first play of the drive, before breaking off a 36-yard run for a score to extend the lead to 20-0.
Jean-Guillaume would cap off a five-play, 61-yard drive with his second touchdown of the quarter on CCSU's next possession. He had 37 yards on the drive, including a four-yard plunge with 2:25 left in the period to push the lead to 27-0.
Freshman Jahlil Brown ended Lincoln's next possession by blocking a punt to give Central the ball at the LU 14 yard line. Sophomore Aaron Dawson would punch it in from five yard out to extend the lead to 34-0.
Dolegala connected with senior Joey Fields on a 40-yard touchdown to make it 41-0 heading into halftime.
The Blue Devils would tack on a pair of touchdowns in the second half to close out the scoring. Dawson would score from seven yard out and junior Tanner Kingsley hit sophomore Danley Exilhomme for a five yard score, both in the third quarter.
Walker led Central with 82 yards on eight carries, while Guillaume added 54 yards on six carries. Fields had 63 yards on four catches with a touchdown. Rush had 58 yards and a touchdown on his only catch of the night.
Dolegala finished the night 7-for-8 for 151 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Kingsley was 8-for-10 for 66 yards.
The Central defense limited the Lions to 125 total yards and forced two turnovers on interceptions. The Blue Devils forced the Lions into 10 punts, while allowing just seven first downs. Sophomores DJ Exilhomme and Tre Jones led the team with five tackles each.
The shutout was the first for CCSU since a 34-0 win over Robert Morris on Oct. 31, 2015.
