Connor Mignone Named Freshman All-American, NEC Freshman of the Year by Phil Steele
Adds to list of postseason honors following his freshman season in New Britain
Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Connor Mignone continuned to add to his impressive postseason list of honors on Wednesday. Mignone was named a Freshman All-American by Phil Steele Publications. Mignone was named to the First Team, as well as being named the Northeast Conference Freshman of the Year by the same publication.
Earlier this fall Mignone was named to the All-New England Team on the offensive line. Mignone was also named the league's Offensive Rookie of the Year following the regular season, becoming the first lineman to win the award in its 22-year history. He was also named to the All-NEC First Team. Mignone led an offensive line that produced the school's first 1,000 yard rusher since the 2014 season, and gave up just five sacks in six league games this season. The Blue Devils tied for ninth in the country having allowed just nine sacks in 11 games during the regular season.
