Jean-Guillaume Named Co-NEC Offensive Player of the Week
Sophomore ran for a career-high 127 yards in the home victory
For the second time this season sophomore running back Drew Jean-Guillaume has been named the Northeast Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Jean-Guillaume helped pace the Blue Devils to their fifth straight victory on Saturday, topping Bryant 31-14 in New Britain.
Jean-Guillaume continued his touchdown streak as Central Connecticut extended its win streak. His 76-yard touchdown run gave the Blue Devils a 24-14 advantage with under 1:00 remaining in the third quarter of the team's five consecutive victory. Jean-Guillaume found paydirt at least once in all five wins, totaling eight touchdowns during the span.
Posting his highest yardage total of the season, the sophomore running back piled up 152 yards from scrimmage in the 31-14 home victory over Bryant. He carried 14 times for a career-high 127 yards while also gaining 25 yards on a trio of pass receptions. His first catch converted a 3rd-and-8 on CCSU's opening touchdown drive. He converted a 3rd-and-1 with a six-yard rush as CCSU proceeded to take a 14-0 lead on its following possession.
His 76-yard scoring scamper came only moments after Bryant pulled within 17-14 late in the third period.
