In all, Hollomon touched the ball 36 times with 280 all-purpose yards, and it was his last touch that put CCSU ahead for good.
Hollomon, who had a long run of 74 yards earlier in the game, plunged in from one yard out to give CCSU a 31-27 lead with 00:36 remaining on the clock. His first touchdown of the game, a 3-yard run, broke a 14-14 tie with under 3:00 remaining in the third quarter.

Fields' was named NEC Rookie of the Week after making huge play during crunch time. The first catch of the rookie receiver's career kept the game-winning drive alive. With Central trailing 27-24 and facing a 4th-and-13 in the game's final minute, Fields pulled in a 34-yard reception. His clutch catch gave CCSU a 1st-and-Goal at the Towson 2-yard line. The play was one of 11 passing first downs produced by the Blue Devils' aerial attack in the 31-27 victory over last season's FCS runner-up.
The Blue Devils (1-0) will open at home Saturday night against Albany. CCSU and Albany are scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff on Arute Field. Fans are encouraged to buy tickets in advance by visiting CCSUTickets.com.
