Hollomon Preseason All-America First Team
Senior Rob Hollomon was named to The Sports Network Preseason All-America First Team at the all-purpose position.
Central Connecticut football senior Rob Hollomon was named to The Sports Network Preseason All-America First Team on Tuesday morning. Hollomon, a running back and kick/punt returner for the Blue Devils, was named to the first team at the all-purpose position.

Hollomon earned the all-purpose position on the TSN Preseason All-America Third Team prior to last season. Following the season he claimed Second Team All-America honors at the All-Purpose position from TSN after leading the nation in all-purpose yards per game at the Division I FCS level. Hollomon was also a Second Team All-Northeast Conference selection at running back and at return specialist following the 2013 season.
The Philadelphia native rushed for 1,452 yards and 18 touchdowns last season, his second consecutive 1,000-yard campaign. He also had 223 receiving yards and 595 return yards to total 2,270 all-purpose yards on the season. He was the NCAA FCS Statistical Champion for all-purpose yards per game with 189.17 yards/game.
Hollomon's 1,452 yards last season rank as the third highest single-season total in school history. He also enters this season ranked third on CCSU's career rushing list with 2,556 yards.
His 1,452 rushing yards ranked 11th nationally last season at the Division I FCS level and his 18 rushing touchdowns tied for 7th on the country.
With 19 total touchdowns – 18 rushing, one receiving – last season, Hollomon finished just one score shy of the CCSU program record for touchdowns in a season.
He was also named to the CFPA Running Back Award Watch List last month.
The three preseason teams featured 101 student-athletes, covering 59 schools and all 13 FCS conferences. The NEC was represented by five student-athletes, with Hollomon and Sacred Heart defensive tackle Troy Moore landing on the first team.
