Baseball Wins Saturday at UMES, 6-3
The Central Connecticut baseball team won the series-opener at UMES on Saturday, 6-3, in a Northeast Conference game played at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, MD. All of the Blue Devils' scoring was done in the opening four innings and their pitchers would allow just one run on two hits over the final five frames.

KEY MOMENTS
- Brady Short opened the game with a single before moving to third on a steal and a wild pitch. With two outs, Chris Brown tripled to plate the first run, before scoring on a single by Jackson Haker to make it 2-0.
- The Hawks got one run back in the bottom of the second when a two-out double by Ryan Davis drove in a run.
- CCSU would increase its lead with two runs in each of its next two turns at bat. Brown led off the third with a single and Haker would draw a one-out walk. Antonio Ducatelli singled to drive in Brown. Another walk loaded the bases for Gabe Pitts drove in a run with a ground out to make it 4-1.
- In the fourth, Aidan Redahan singled and a pair of walks would load the bases with one out. A wild pitch allowed Redahan to score, before Haker singled in Brown to make it 6-1.
- UMES loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the fourth, but only managed one run on a sac fly by Davis.
- Drew Munn would have all the support he'd need. After allowing a lead off single in the fourth, he held UMES without a hit until a pair of singles in the eighth. The Hawks would load the bases and got a run on a sac fly from Davis with two outs, but the Blue Devils ended the inning by tagging out Diego Aponte at home.

- Haker went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.
- Brown had two hits and an RBI, while scoring three runs.
- Short reached base five times and had three hits.
- Munn was charged with two earned runs in 7.1 innings. He struck out eight.
- Wyatt Cameron earned his second save with 1.2 perfect innings, striking out one.
- The Blue Devils' 15-game conference win streak is the longest in the country.
- Central has collected 10+ hits in 18 straight games as a team.
- CCSU is 28-0-1 all-time against UMES.
