Baseball Downs Mount St. Mary's in Extra Innings
Central Connecticut baseball outlasted Mount St. Mary's, 5-2, in 10 innings on Friday in Northeast Conference action at Straw Family Stadium. The Blue Devils hit a pair of homeruns in the game to win its fifth game of the year over the Mountaineers.

KEY MOMENTS
- Mount St. Mary's managed just four hits through the first 6.1 innings, but it would open the scoring with a solo homerun by Andrew Malone to make it 1-0.
- The Blue Devils responded by taking the lead in the eighth inning. Junior Jay Devito drew a leadoff walk and freshman Noah Martinez followed with a homerun to right field to make it 2-1.
- The Mount would push across the tying run in the eighth. The leadoff batter was hit by a pitch and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Myles Nicholson's single through the left side plated a run to make it 2-2.
- Central would push across three runs in the top of the 10th. Devito led off with a single before getting to second on a wild pitch with two outs. Junior Sam Loda delivered a single to right field to make it 3-2. Following a pitching change, senior Dave Matthews would hit a homerun into right center to make it 5-2.
