Baseball Falls to Stony Brook on Saturday
The Central Connecticut baseball team lost to Stony Brook on Saturday, 9-3, at CCSU Baseball Field. The Blue Devils scored two runs in the first, but Sony Brook would score nine runs in the final four run innings to win.
The teams close out the series on Sunday with a game at 12:00 p.m.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first. Junior Jay Devito drew a one-out walk and would score one batter later when freshman Noah Martinez laced a triple to right field. CCSU increased its lead to 2-0 when senior Buddy Dewaine doubled to plate Martinez.
- Stony Brook took the lead with two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh. John Tuccillo had an RBI double and Evan Giordano had an RBI single, while two more runs scored on wild pitches to make it 4-2.
- The Seawolves added two runs in the eighth with Evan Fox tripling home a run and Johnny Decker hitting a run-scoring single to make it 6-2.
- CCSU loaded the bases with two outs in the eighth and scored a run, but the Seawolves tacked on three more runs to close out the scoring.
NOTES
- Dewaine finished 3-for-4 with a run and RBI at the plate to lead CCSU. Senior Dave Matthews and freshman Elliot Good each added a double.
- Senior Brandon Fox started and tossed 7.0 innings for CCSU. He allowed four runs, while ringing up five strikeouts.
- Jared Milch struck out seven over 6.0 innings for Stony Brook. He allowed two runs and got the win.
- Fox, Decker and Giordano each had three hits for SBU, which finished with 15 hits as a team.
