Baseball Begins Play at Northeast Conference Championship on Thursday
The Blue Devils are the #2 seed and play Wagner at 4:00 p.m.
Central Connecticut will open play at the Northeast Conference Baseball Championship on Thursday, May 23, at 4:00 p.m. against Wagner at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, CT. The Blue Devils earned the #2 seed, while the Seahawks will enter as the #3 seed. Fans can watch the action live, for free, at NECFrontRow.com. CCSU has a 26-20 overall record and a 16-8 mark in conference play. The Blue Devils closed conference play by going 11-1 in their last 12 NEC games, including a program-record 10 straight league wins.
Tickets may be purchased at Dodd Stadium on the day of the event. Ticket prices are $10 per day for General Admission and $5 for Seniors and children 12 and under. NEC students with a valid ID will be admitted free. The championship is a double-elimination tournament over three days. Dodd Stadium is home of the Connecticut Tigers, the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

The Blue Devils are playing in the NEC Tournament for the 16th time and have an all-time record of 27-22. CCSU won the league championship in its most recent postseason trip in 2017 and has won five NEC titles overall (2002, 2003, 2004, 2010, 2017).
Bryant enters the tournament as the top seed for the seventh straight season. The Bulldogs went 28-18 overall and 19-5 in NEC play. Wagner (18-30, 11-13 NEC) and Sacred Heart (19-32-1, 11-13 NEC) round out the championship field.
The Blue Devils have posted an 8-7 mark this season against the rest of the championship field. CCSU went 5-1 against Wagner, while going 2-1 vs. Sacred Heart and 1-5 against Bryant
The Bulldogs and Pioneers play at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday to open the championship.
