Fitzsimons Signs With Los Angeles Angels
Earned First Team All-NEC honors as a senior.
Central Connecticut baseball's Connor Fitzsimons signed a professional contract with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and will be assigned to the Arizona League Angels, the organization's rookie league team. Fitzsimons recently completed his career with the Blue Devils, earning All-Northeast Conference honors as a senior.
Fitzsimons capped his career by being named First Team All-NEC in 2016 when he batted a career-high .321 with two home runs and a team-high 29 runs batted in. Fitzsimons played in 172 career games, primarily as a catcher. He finished with 59 runs scored with 68 runs batted in on 31 extra-base hits. Fitzsimons was outstanding defensively, sporting a career .985 fielding percentage and throwing out 44 runners on stolen base attempts.
The AZL Angels are located in Tempe, AZ, and their rookie season runs through August 29.
