Baseball Drops Series Finale vs. Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday
The Central Connecticut baseball team dropped an 11-6 decision to Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday afternoon in New Britain. The loss gives the two teams a split of the weekend series, with the Knights winning the first and fourth games. With the loss Central drops to 19-16-1 overall and 11-9 in Northeast Conference play.

to Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday afternoon in New Britain. The
loss gives the two teams a split of the weekend series, with the
Knights winning the first and fourth games. With the loss Central
drops to 19-16-1 overall and 11-9 in Northeast Conference play.
The Blue Devils took a 1-0 lead with an unearned run in the second
inning. With men on first and second sophomore Andy
Lalli singled up the middle to give the Blue Devils the
lead.
Four runs in the fourth inning pushed the lead to 5-0. Lalli drove
in two more runs, and a ground rule double from freshman Dylan
DelaCruz scored Lalli to score the fourth run of the inning.
Another scored on a throwing error by the Knights.
The Knights scored a run in the fifth to make it 5-1. Central
sophomore starting pitcher Harry
Glynne did not allow a base runner through four innings. He
allowed a walk and a hit in the inning as FDU cut it to four.
FDU scored seven runs and brought 12 batters to the plate in the
sixth inning, chasing Glynne from the game, and taking an 8-5
lead. Central made a pair of errors in the frame, and four of the
runs were unearned.
DelaCruz singled in a run in the bottom of the sixth to make it
8-6. It was his third hit of the game. The Knights scored three
in the top of the eighth to take an 11-6 lead.
Lalli finished the game with four hits and three RBI for the Blue
Devils. DelaCruz had three hits and an RBI in the loss.
Central returns to action on Wednesday at home against Connecticut
beginning at 3 p.m.
