Sean Allaire Named Louisville Slugger Third Team All-American

Senior Sean Allaire continues to receive post-season accolades following one of the most successful individual single seasons in Central Connecticut baseball history. Allaire was named a Third Team Louisville Slugger All-American this week by Collegiate Baseball magazine. He batted .426 and matched a school-record with 100 hits on the season, while also being named the Northeast Conference Player of the Year.

Allaire matched the school-record of Keith Stegbauer (2004) with 100 hits in his senior season. He belted his 100th hit in the NCAA Regional in Norwich, CT against UConn on Saturday. His .426 average led the NEC and the team, and he also set a new school-record, along with teammate Pat Epps, with 73 runs batted in on the season.

Allaire's career with the Blue Devils was nothing short of spectacular. His career average of .358 in the seventh best all-time, and his 231 career hits stand as the third-most in school history. He started 153 of his 180 career games played, including 151 starts in his final three seasons. His is fifth all-time in at-bats (646), fourth in runs scored (161), second in doubles (50), fourth in triples (11), eighth in home runs (17), third in total bases (354), 10th in slugging percentage (.548) and seventh in runs batted in (122).

After a freshman season in which he started just two of 29 games played, and was 4-for-16 at the plate, Allaire started and played in 151 games in three years. The Blue Devils played 153 games during that stretch.

He finished his career being named the 2010 NEC Player of the Year, as well as being named First Team All-Conference and First Team All-New England. Allaire and the Blue Devils won the 2010 NEC title, the first for the school since 2004.
