Junior Pat Epps Named Northeast Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Central Connecticut State University junior outfielder Pat Epps was named the Northeast Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Epps becomes the third different Blue Devil to earn the honor this season, joining teammates Tommy Meade and Sean Allaire. The Blue Devils return to action on Tuesday at UMass beginning at 3 p.m.

on Monday. Epps becomes the third different Blue Devil to earn the
honor this season, joining teammates Tommy Meade and Sean Allaire.
The Blue Devils return to action on Tuesday at UMass beginning at 3
p.m.
Epps had a stellar week for the Blue Devils, helping Central post a
4-1 week and take three of four against Sacred Heart over the
weekend. He batted .450 with nine hits in 20 at-bats, while
slugging three home runs and driving in 10 runs for the Blue
Devils.
Epps added a pair of doubles, and scored five times while slugging
1.000 as Central improved to 14-12 overall and 9-7 in Northeast
Conference play. Epps is now batting .352 on the season and his 31
RBI are third on the team. He started his week going 4-for-5 with
two RBI, a pair of runs scored and a home run in a win over Holy
Cross mid-week.
In the first game of the series vs. Sacred Heart, Epps saw his
16-game hitting streak come to an end. He didn't waste time
starting a new one, going 5-for-11 over the next three games,
including two hits in each game of the doubleheader on Saturday.
In the first game he drove in a career-high five runs with a
three-run home run and a two-run single. He had a pair of hits in
the second game. On Sunday, he hit a two-run homer and drove in a
third run as Central took three of four from Sacred Heart.
