Baseball Tops Holy Cross 10-4 on the Road on Tuesday Night
Seniors Sean Allaire and Tommy Meade each drove in three runs as the Central Connecticut State University baseball team topped Holy Cross 10-4 on Tuesday night. Central evens its record at 11-11 with the victory. They will return to action on Friday in conference action at Sacred Heart.

University baseball team topped Holy Cross 10-4 on Tuesday night.
Central evens its record at 11-11 with the victory. They will
return to action on Friday in conference action at Sacred
Heart.
Central took a 4-0 lead with two runs in each of the first two
innings. In the first junior Pat Epps hit a two-run home
run to right center field scoring sophomore Mitch Wells. It was
the fourth home run of the season for Epps. In the second inning
Allaire tripled home a run and Wells added an RBI as the Blue
Devils climbed out to the 4-0 advantage.
Holy Cross scored one in the fourth. The Blue Devils got the run
back in the fifth when Wells drove in his second run of the game
making it 5-1.
After Holy Cross scored one run in the sixth, the Blue Devils
opened it up with three runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Meade hit his seventh home run of the season, a three-run shot, to
give Central the 8-2 lead.
Allaire finished the scoring for the Blue Devils with a two-run
home run in the eighth, the third of the game for the visitors. It
was his third of the season.
Wells and Epps each drove in two, while Allaire and Meade had three
RBI each. Allaire, Epps and Meade all homered in the victory.
Senior Dan Markoya earned the
victory on the mound for the Blue Devils, he is now 1-1 on the
season. He pitched five innings allowing just one run on five hits
while striking out four. Freshman Nick
Neumann, sophomore Roy Natoli and senior Kyle
Zarotney combined to pitch the final four innings. Natoli and
Zarotney did not allow a hit or a run in the eighth and ninth
innings.
Central returns to action on Friday at Sacred Heart in the first
game of a weekend series with the Pioneers.
