Baseball Falls 8-2 on the Road at Seton Hall on Saturday
The Central Connecticut State University baseball team dropped to 2-5 overall on the season with an 8-2 loss at Seton Hall on Saturday. Sophomore Mitch Wells had two hits and an RBI in the loss, while senior Richie Tri added a pair of hits. Central continues plays at Seton Hall on Sunday, playing Iona beginning at 10 a.m.

to 2-5 overall on the season with an 8-2 loss at Seton Hall on
Saturday. Sophomore Mitch Wells had two hits and
an RBI in the loss, while senior Richie Tri added a pair of
hits. Central continues plays at Seton Hall on Sunday, playing
Iona beginning at 10 a.m.
Seton Hall took a 6-0 lead with six runs in the bottom of the third
inning off of Blue Devil starter Tyler Riordan.
Central scored two in the fourth to cut the lead to 6-2. Wells
drove in a run with an RBI single and freshman catcher Andy
Lalli posted his first RBI of the season in the inning to plate
the second run.
Seton Hall scored single runs in the seventh and the eighth innings
to make it an 8-2 game.
Four Blue Devil pitchers combined to throw the final 4.2 innings
allowing just seven hits and a pair of runs while striking out
three. Jack Greenhouse pitched 1.2
innings allowing just two hits. Donny Crook pitched two innings of
scoreless relief and struck out one.
The loss snaps a two-game winning streak for the Blue Devils, and
drops them 2-5 overall on the season. Wells had two hits and drove
in a run. Tri had two hits and Lalli drove in his first career
run.
The Blue Devils will finish the weekend with a game against Iona
beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday. That game will also be played at
Seton Hall.
