Volleyball and men's soccer begin NEC play this week.
Volleyball and men's soccer both begin their chase for Northeast Conference ttiles this week. Also on the slate, is the annual Ted Owen Invitational, Saturday morning for the CCSU cross country teams.

- Saturday's meeting marks the 21st between the two teams and the first since a 2019 NCAA Tournament game
- The last regular season meeting between the two teams came in 2014 in New Britain and the last regular season game in Albany was in 2013, a 20-7 CCSU victory
- Albany was an opponent during the regular season for the Blue Devils first four NEC Championships (2004, 2005, 2009 and 2010)
- The Blue Devils are 19th in the nation in passing yards allowed, holding opponents to 176.3 yards per outing
- Central is 23rd nationally in fewest penalties per game, 5.0, and fwest penalty yards per game, 40.3. The squad is ranked first in the NEC if fewest penatlties, 15

- The Blue Devils are meeting Brown for just the second time since 2002 (0-1-0)
- Central opens NEC play against LIU and will be looking to end a seven-match losing streak in the series.
- CCSU last won its conference opener in 2013, a 2-0 win over LIU.

- CCSU continues league play on the road at Wagner on Thursday at 7:00pm.
- The Blue Devils are 13-1 in their last 14 meetings versus Wagner, and have won eight straight games since 2014.
Sunday, 9/25/22 vs Stonehill; 6:00 pm

- The Blue Devil's will return home on Sunday for a game against Stonehill at 6:00pm.
- This will be the first ever matchup between CCSU and the Skyhawks, who joined the Northeast Conference in the fall of 2022.

Saturday, 9/24/22 vs LIU, 4:00 pm
- The Blue Devils are 9-1 against St. Francis Brooklyn dating back to 2015.
- CCSU has split the season series against LIU in each of the past four seasons.
- Central is limiting its opponents to a .178 hitting percentage – best in the NEC.
- Rachel Picha leads the conference and ranks 11th nationally with 0.67 service aces/set.

Saturday, 9/24/22 - Ted Owen Invitational, Women 11:00 am; Men 11:45 am
- There are 14 teams, including CCSU, slated to compete at the 2022 Ted Owen Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park
- Eddie Nicholas won the individual title and the Blue Devils had four of the top-five finishers in earning the team title last fall
- Ashley Dana, third, and Brooke Morabito, fifth, are the women's top returning finishers from a squad that finished third as a team last season
