CCSU Athletics Unveils New Detrick Gymnasium Videoboard
The new scoreboard will add video elements.
The CCSU Department of Athletics announced the addition of a new video scoreboard to Detrick Gymnasium. The 17-foot by 8-foot board will be mounted on the north wall of the gymnasium and includes a custom graphics package for the Blue Devils to upgrade the gameday atmosphere of Blue Devils basketball and volleyball games.
"One of our primary goals, coming off the construction project this year in Kaiser Hall, has been to debut an improved game experience when we reopen the full facility," said Director of Athletics Brian Barrio. "Moving from a digital scoreboard to a board with full video capability will help broaden corporate partnerships and bring a new dimension to the game for our basketball and volleyball fans. We also want this project to enrich the way our student-athletes experience their games, with multimedia introductions and more. Thank you to those on campus and in our CCSU community who helped make this a reality, especially to President Toro."

The upgraded scoreboard includes a graphics package designed to include custom player slides and sponsor elements. The graphics use the CCSU athletics logos and fonts to provide a unique and consistent design with Blue Devils athletics.
The new videoboard will be unveiled for the 2019-20 season and add to an enhanced Detrick Gymnasium atmosphere. The new Huang Student Recreation Center, which is attached to Kaiser Hall at the south end of Detrick Gymnasium will include a reception space for hospitality that will include a window view on to the court. The gym upgrades also include modern, portable basketball hoops.
Central worked with Brian Barzee of Northeast Scoreboards and OES Scoreboards to build the videoboard to its specifications. The board will be ready for use during the 2019-20 season.
