Blue Devils Earn NEC Spring Academic Recognition
A total of 55 Blue Devils student-athletes across seven spring sports teams earned a place on the Northeast Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Central Connecticut student-athletes were honored for their academic achievements when the Northeast Conference announced the Spring Academic Honor Roll and Commisioner's Honor Roll on Thursday. The conference also released the Spring Scholar-Athletes and Scholar Athletes of the Year presented by Certified Financial Services. A total of 55 Blue Devils student-athletes across seven spring sports teams earned a place on the Northeast Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll. In addition, nine CCSU student-athletes earned a place on the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring season.

COMMISSIONER'S HONOR ROLL
The NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll recognized 1,111 student-athletes with a 3.20 or better grade-point average. There were also 293 student-athletes named to the spring Commissioner's Honor Roll, recognizing those superior student-athletes with a 3.75 or better grade point average.
The conference also recognized its scholar-athlete award winners. All honorees must have earned a minimum of 60 semester hours at their institution, maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.20 and participated with distinction as a member of a varsity team.
Over the course of the 2017-18 academic year, a league record 2,476 NEC student-athletes landed a spot on the Academic Honor Roll, a 12.6 percent increase from a year ago. That figure also represents over 60 percent of the NEC's competitors. Likewise, a record 720 student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a 21.6 percent jump from 2016-17
The CCSU men's outdoor track and field team had 14 members of the Spring Academic Honor Roll to lead all Blue Devils programs. The softball team had 12 members earn Academic Honor Roll recognition, including three named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll. The women's outdoor track and field team had four honorees on the Commissioner's Honor Roll to lead CCSU programs.
