Blue Devils Earn Spring Academic Honors
CCSU had 63 student-athletes earn Northeast Conference academic recognition.
A total of 63 student-athletes across Central Connecticut's seven spring sports teams earned a place on the Northeast Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll it was announced Thursday. In addition, 14 CCSU student-athletes earned a place on the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall season.

COMMISSIONER'S HONOR ROLL
NEC student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average above 3.20 are eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, while the Commissioner's Honor Roll requires a cumulative GPA above 3.75.
The NEC announced its spring Academic Honor Roll, consisting of 979 student-athletes, and the COmmissioner's Honor Roll, consisting of 227 student-athletes.
CCSU had a total of 164 student-athletes earn Academic Honor Roll recognition in 2016-17. Furthermore, 41 student-athletes earned Commissioner's Honor Roll distinction this year, marking the Blue Devils' highest total since 2010-11.
Over the course of the 2016-17 academic year, a total of 2,198 NEC student-athletes landed a spot on the Academic Honor Roll, a 6.5 percent increase from a year ago. On the year, a record 592 student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, an 11.3 percent jump from 2015-16.
Central's men's track & field program, which won its fourth straight NEC title, had 18 student-athletes named to the spring Academic Honor Roll, while the CCSU baseball team, which won its fifth NEC title, had six members named to the spring Academic Honor Roll. The women's lacrosse team (12), women's track & field (eight), softball (eight), women's golf (six) and men's golf (five) were also represented on the Honor Roll.
